Most people have heard of the stages of grief, but often forget all 5, or in which order they naturally occur. Here is a brief run down:
1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance
Each of these is described on a website called Psych Central which I would encourage you to read.
I have had several students lose loved ones recently and I know that they are feeling a lot of pain. For those who live in or near Indiana, here is a website of a place in Indianapolis that provides special group counseling for families and children who have lost a loved one:
