Bullying

Bullying is a hot topic, and it should be. It has always been an issue, but it has come to the forefront of the education world as young people succomb more and more to mental health and family issues. Also, as the population grows, it would be expected that social issues would also seem to be looming as bigger forces in our world.

It used to be that Boy Bullying was the only type of issue people talked about. Recently, however, Girl Bullying has been researched and reported about more than the former.   There is a movement spreading across the nation's schools to address girl bullying, started by two college age girls, called "Finding Kind."

Another media special which aired in 2010 highlighted bullying by having actors play the parts of bullies and parents volunteering their children to be the "victims," to see how their children would react to someone being bullied.  Here is a link to that website where you can view the news piece and find additional resources:
